| We saw the movie, Babel tonight. We went into it full of laughter and silly antics. However, as the movie unfolded I realized we were in for some serious depth and intensity. The movie in my opinion was brilliant. Lengthy and slow at points, but brilliant. I loved the message of hope and light. Each of the characters and situations were connected by situations of hopelessness and despair, they were left at the end of their rope feeling completely lost and stripped bare. As the situations came to a close they found light and hope in their own ways. The acting was superb, you felt and saw and tasted the emotions represented. The movie dealt with issues even such as immigration, gun control, terrorism. As the characters became connected with this sense of loss and dispair I realized that in those desperate situations, even if they got themselves in it, they needed help, they were helpless. As Christians, we sin, we get ourselves into things or crap happens to us that we cannot control and we need help getting out. We need to own up to our mistakes like the boy. We need to trust and rely on each other and take care of each other like the couple. We need to strip to our bare skin and say I can't do this on my own like the girl. Although we live in a dark world, God is light. He gives us light in ways that we may not see right away, but are there. Each of the situations were left with love and light. Our world is full of darkness and evil, but we could be that light and that love for one another. |

| Rather than go to class, raise my gpa and my wisdom and knowledge, I sat at home playing on the computer. I laughed for a good 45 minutes about these.

Hahahahhahaha. So easily entertained. So I'd just like to say I'm not a fan of Dell. Sorry to my friends who work there. My laptop is a few months old and the speakers are busted and last night the "S" cap came off the keyboard. I have to press really hard and it looks awesome. Should have gone with the Mac. Things are looking great for Africa, have enough money, still doing fundraisers to raise extra for the orphanage and to make sure we have enough. BINGO on Sunday night at UBC after Lovefeast...start around 7:30, 8 ish. Be there!!! $5 a card. |
